6TH WEEK AT THE MTC -

French Consul General coming to the MTC

This week has been a pretty good one in the MTC!

Last Tuesday Elder M. Russell Ballard came to our devotional and spoke to us! He had an awesome message for us. Then Sunday night, Stephen Allen of the Seventy came and gave a great message to us also!

We received our flight plans last week! We'll be leaving monday morning, flying to Chicago, then to London, then down to Lyon! Sounds like we'll get to Lyon around 11 AM their time so we're gonna have a full day planned out for us! I'm super stoked to go but its gonna be pretty crazy!

I probably won't have P-Day until the Monday after the next one, so It'll be a bit until i email again; just about 2 weeks but thats totally fine!

Yesterday, we found out that the French Consul General will be coming to our class on Friday. The Consul General is like a step below the Ambassador. She'll be coming to see what the MTC program is like, and she'll stop by our class and talk to us for a bit! I think that a member of the Seventy will be there as well. This is basically so that we can get our Visas into France, so they're kind of depending on us haha I can't wait!

Well that's all for this week! Be sure to check my blog for pictures, and next time I write I'll be in France. Blog: http://jakesjourneytofrance.blogspot.com/

WEEK 5 IN THE MTC

Bonjour!!

I'm less than two weeks away from leaving the MTC and I'm super excited! I haven't had too much cabin fever in the MTC but it might get worse here soon..

This last week was pretty cool because we got a new MTC Presidency, and at the devotional last Tuesday, Elder Russell M. Nelson came again for that. It's cool to hear from an apostle a second time in the MTC!!

Last wednesday we did our TRC lessons where we would teach a lesson all in French to a member, and we got to skype volunteers in France and give them a lesson! I was surprised by how easy I could understand it, but I'm sure they were also speaking a little slower for us haha

On Sunday our new branch presidency spoke to us and it was good to hear from them. I only have them for two weeks so it doesn't really change anything.

I'm supposed to get my travel plans this thursday and that's crazy to think about! Soon enough I'll be immersed in the language and the people of France and I couldn't be more excited! The MTC is pretty good, but only for 6 weeks haha.

Well that's about all for this week, I still have class all day usually so there's never a lot to write about.

KING OF FOUR SQUARE  &

LOTS OF MISSIONARIES

Less than three weeks then I'll be heading to France! Once I get to France my emails will probably contain more interesting stuff because in the MTC I'm just usually in class so there's not a lot to talk about..

My week has gone pretty well; there's been a lot of class time and such so nothing really too exciting. On sunday we had a guy speak (forgot his name) and it was cool because he asked for a lot of recent converts (within last two years) to come and say something and it was really cool hearing from them!
Its Elder Cade McCubbins (going to Georgia), Me, and Elder Bryson Hammer (going to Brazil)! We graduated company together! This was our temple walk. We're all at the MTC!

This week we got three new missionaries in our zone; two of them are going to the west indies and one of them is going to Canada! and I found out that I actually went to elementary school with one of them haha Elder Rowley! They're pretty cool guys though and I'm glad they're in our zone!
It's gonna pretty pretty hard to say goodbye to a lot of these people in a few weeks but I can't wait to see the things that they're going to all over the world!

The MTC is pretty crowded right not (I'm sure its nothing compared to the summer) but it's still awesome seeing so many people! The work is constantly growing!

My French is coming along pretty well; tomorrow we get to skype a Native French Member and have a lesson with them and It will be different because Native French Speakers speak so fast!
Studying?? or Praying???
(Sorry the Mom just had to post this picture.)

Also, I have been dubbed as the King of Four Square in Gym time, and everyone agrees hahaha

Well that's all I have for this week! Scripture of the Day: Jacob 6:12

District Leader and I'm ready to be on my way to France!

Well I'm about halfway through the MTC here! It's not that bad but I'm ready to be on my way to France!

This last Sunday I was made a district leader! So I'll be that until I leave the MTC. My French is starting to pick up and I'm starting to get to know it a lot better! New Years in the MTC isn't anything  special haha but going to bed at 10:30 wasn't too bad!

This Sunday we had Greg Droubay speak at our devotional! He's the guy that's  the lead Media Director behind a lot of Mormon videos such as the "He Is the Gift"! and He said there will be another one for Easter that's supposed to be pretty good so look out for that!

Also we got to go to the Provo Temple this morning and that was awesome! It's been closed for the past 2 weeks so it's nice to finally go.

Most of my week was just class time so I don't have much more to write about haha!

Write me letters while I'm still in the MTC please :)

I love you all!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This 2nd week has been absolutely incredible!!

Last tuesday night, Presiding Bishop Stevenson came to the MTC for our devotional and he was a great speaker! Then on Christmas Eve they had a Christmas Program with a Nativity reenactment!

Christmas Day, Elder Russell M. Nelson came and spoke to all of us and he was incredible! It was very powerful! Also, I was sooooo happy waking up to snow on Christmas day :) It made it all so great! It was a very memorable Christmas for me!

Another Highlight of this last week was the devotional on Sunday night! We had two people come to speak and play music for us! The first guy was the Lead Organist of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Richard Elliott!! That man has some amazing talent at the organ, and he did this really cool song with his feet only!

The second person to share some music with us was David Archuleta!!!! It was funny when he first came out - because all of these sisters started just dying because he was here haha, but David talked for a little bit then he sang a few songs. He sang my favorite French Christmas song "Il est né le divin enfant" and he sang a few more! It was an incredible night for all of us, I loved hearing music because we don't get it that often around here!

Also, this morning we had the opportunity to clean the Provo temple because its still closed! Our district just cleaned the cafeteria, but when we finished our leader took us to the bride's dressing room and it was really cool! haha

I hope you all, have a happy NEW YEAR!
